Privacy policy (draft)

This is a draft, not legal advice. The full text is in docs/PRIVACY.md.

• Parents connect their own school portal. We store the minimum needed to show grades, missing work, and todos.
• Children are identified by a nickname and a parent-issued link plus PIN. We do not ask for a child's email.
• We do not sell personal information and we do not use student information for targeted advertising.
• California SOPIPA (Business and Professions Code section 22584) prohibits selling student data and using it for targeted advertising. This service is written to follow those limits.
• A parent can delete the family account from Account settings. The confirmation word is DELETE. The connector lists what will be removed and links to that page. It does not delete from chat.
• Host operational logs record a connection id, a family id, and a stable error code. They are designed to exclude student records, portal passwords, tokens, cookies, and request or response bodies.
